Q: What types of classes are offered?
A: We offer two classes. A Novice Rider Course(NRC) and an Intermediate Rider Course (IRC).
Q: When is the next class?
A: Check the schedule or call us.
Q: How much does the class cost?
A: NRC classes are $125.00 for subsidized and $225.00 for unsubsidized. IRC classes are $125.00 for unsubsidized.
Q: What does that mean?
A: The state collects endorsement fees from riders and uses the fees to support rider education. We have a contract with the state to provide these courses, however, state funds are limited. In order to meet the demand, we offer unsubsidized classes.
Q: Is there any difference between Subsidized and Un ubsidized classes?
A: Only the cost.
Q: Do I need special clothing?
A: You will need: a DOT approved helmet, long pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket, full finger gloves, over the ankle footware.
Q: Where are classes held?
A: Check our Home Page or Directions Page.
Q: How long is the class?
A: NRC classes usually take 16 hours (either two week days or Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday). Specific hours depend on which group you are in. IRC classes are one day.
Q: What does it take to pass the class?
A: Basically you need to attend all of the classroom and range segments, score 80% or better on a written exam and score 80% or better on a riding exam.
There will be nothing on either exam that has not been discussed and/or practiced beforehand.
Q: Do I have to have a motorcycle?
A: For the basic course we provide the motorcycles. The advanced class is done with your motorcycle.
Q: Will I get my license at the end of class?
A: Once you pass the class, you will receive a course completion card which will need to be presented to the Department of Licensing to obtain your endorsement.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: If cancellations are received six (6) business days before the class, the registration fee will be refunded, less a $25.00 enrollment charge. If less than six (6) business days prior to class date, or for "no shows", there will be no refund given.
